Many people ask how Keith goes about forming an idea for a painting and it all comes down to being inspired by the story behind it. Whether it be a particular place, or an event described in a book or from the experience of veterans, a powerful basis for a painting begins to grow.
 
Keith has been very lucky to have met many WWII veterans and other experts across the range of subjects that he paints; each having inspired and improved paintings with their stories, knowledge and experiences.
 
It is because most of the paintings have a story behind them, researched in such detail by Keith beforehand, that the paintings become so much more than just a particular aircraft or nice picture.
